EXPEDITION & RESEARCH

OUR MISSION

APEX CETACEA and the Apex Research Association aim to study cetaceans in the Bay of Biscay in order to protect them. We are developing research by setting up scientific monitoring of cetacean populations, as well as their habitat and the threats they face.

Geographical position

Study of the geographical position data of cetacean sightings as well as collection of their trajectories in order to better identify the preferred habitat areas and thus inform communities for additional conservation measures.

Photo-Identification

Photo-identification data collection. Photo-identification is the careful study of photographs taken in the field to spot differences and thus recognize each individual observed.
